In a nutshell, the lyrics from this old song can be instructive for us in 2012 as our Earth takes on the vibration of a Five Universal Year.

Going beyond these lyrics, what can I or anyone predict for the year ahead?

Very little, I believe, because...

Guess what?  Five is the number of unpredictability!

For any of you who think you've been stuck in a rut, be prepared for this phase of your life to end.

Or.. do you choose to take advantage of what can be an auspicious time to take action to manifest change in your life?  Five supports optimism and courage as well as timidity and fear.  Personally, I believe that if you are motivated to make changes that are authentic and from your heart, Five supports you in achieving your goals.  Even in the case of so-called "negative" events, we all know of countless times these have ended up being a catalyst and blessing in disguise for those who encounter them.

--Finding methods to remove all the obstacles in your way, both external and internal.

However daunting your path may seem, remember, this year the wind is more likely to be at your back.  -- And don't forget to enjoy your journey.  It can end up being as much fun as your destination!

N-Sights for December 2011

ILLUMINATION

I recall a greeting card that said, “Go toward the light – and leave the darkness behind you.”  These words can serve as an appropriate theme for this month of December, a number Seven Month in a Universal Four Year.

Seven is a number which offers us “illumination” – insights into our selves, insights into others,  insights into other dimensions, other realms, and the Divine mysteries of life.

December is month that traditionally invites us to focus on holiday feasting, gifts and merriment.  Although these are all things that indeed can bring joy to our hearts, the Seven vibration of this year of 2011 suggests that at least part of the time we choose a more solitary path and instead focus inward and upward toward cosmic enlightenment. 

Celebrating “simple abundance”, to use the term of author Sarah Ban Breathnach, can bring us into synchronicity with the Seven and its own gifts of spiritual attunement. So this month I offer you simplicity even in this message which is intended to be brief and to the point.  By asking how you can keep the season blessed with the richness of simplicity, you can attract the gifts of peace and contentment that add new dimension to your memories of this special time of year.

Seven can represent that which is hidden – but it also represents “illumination” and comfort that comes from the non-material world.  The symbols of the season that are part of our holiday traditions also offer us symbols of illumination….

 

The star of Bethlehem is a Christian symbol of the birth of Christ and the illumination he was to bring to the world.

We have the lighted menorah, often used as a symbol for the Jewish celebration of Hanukkah, commemorating the “Miracle of Lights”. Some sources say that the menorah is a symbol of light that can reach even the darkest of places as well as a symbol of progression and renewal.

 

The Yule Log dates back to ancient times in the British Isles when the Druids lit the log at the Winter Solstice to celebrate, at the time daylight began to lengthen once again, a victory of light over darkness and the beginning of a new cycle of light, growth and life.

So during this month when we are easily caught up in the accelerated pace of the holidays, when our “to do” lists keep multiplying and we rush to stay on top of everything so that we can “enjoy” what we are supposed to be celebrating, it may serve you to set aside some moments for solitude.  Light a candle, dim the lights, stare at the flame and inwardly ask what message the light has for you.  Whether an answer arrives then – or down the road, you will have gifted yourself with the gift of peace and stillness and illumination in a literal sense. 

 

In closing, there is another light that may show up for the many who have been going through challenging times.  It’s called “the light at the end of the tunnel”.  The year 2012 is just ahead and it brings for all of us a time of birth and rebirth.  Stay tuned for more tidings at the end of this month.

A TIME OF THANKS GIVING

This November we are transiting a Universal Six month in a Universal Four year.  Six represents our material world and all the things that contribute to our well-being:  love (romantic and otherwise), home, family, friends, food, comfort, health, safety, education, beauty and abundance.   Four also represents safety and security through material supply and the shelters or safe havens we create for ourselves.

Any time we have the Numbers Six and Four in combination, it represents a good time to focus on the health of our relationships with spouses, partners, parents, children, relatives and friends.  As we have the Thanksgiving holiday on November 24th here in the United States, the Universal numbers align perfectly with the holiday traditions of family reunions where we are sometimes forced to confront relationships that are less than our ideal.  But what a perfect time to focus on healing these!

From my experience in my own life and from those of friends and colleagues, it is my observation that our relationships offer us a perfect mirror of what needs healing in our own lives.  Thus this month is an opportune time to examine where we are uncomfortable in our relationships and meditate on what the experiences of our relationship(s) indicate for us to heal.  

The point of this essay is not to go into “healing methods” (of which there are many that are laudable and effective), but to suggest 1) that timing can be good to find methods to heal relationships that are in any way painful or dysfunctional and 2) that it is an auspicious time  to be asking/praying in any way that feels comfortable for you to be provided guidance and insights to manifest your desired relationship outcomes --- either that the people involved leave your life or that you are able to realize more mutual respect and rapport.  Then --  “give thanks” that it is done!

And – if all your relationships are enriching ones, you are especially blessed.  Congratulate yourself for manifesting the great supportive people in your life – and give thanks for all of them.  (They will definitely appreciate any acknowledgment of their value you are called to offer as well.)

In addition to Thanksgiving, another significant day this month is November 11th.  As the date is typically written numerically --  11-11-11  --  we are offered a triple gateway in symbolic form.  Eleven is considered a “master number”, and indeed, there exist myriad interpretations of this number’s significance. 

Faith Javane in her book, Master Numbers, quotes Pythagoras as saying:  “Eleven is the number of a cycle of new beginnings.”  She then goes on to say, “When the forces of the Eleven become fully operative in people, they have the power to change their environments, to create new conditions, to build new bodies and new lives…”

Eleven also offers us increased light and lightness.  So, our coming date of 11-11-11 offers us a powerful portal to manifest life improvements as well as to upgrade our human “operating systems” so to speak.

Technically, the date, 11-11-2011, actually adds up to “8” – but, of course, we know the Number Eight to be the number of mastery and soul expansion  -- Divine synchronicity by all means!                                                                                                    

I personally believe it unrealistic to expect that, after transiting the 11-11-11 portal, your life will dramatically change the next day.  It would be great if you won the lottery, met your soul mate, found the career of your dreams, healed  from a long-term health condition, or had some other miraculous event suddenly show up.  However, the portal of 11-11-11 does offer us an energetic opportunity to respond to the events of our lives with less stress and to be able to move confidently into our next level of consciousness.

If you elected to read this forecast, you are part of a collective group  who are working on perfecting your souls’ path in this incarnation through an understanding of Universal laws of the vibrational field.  You are also here to help bring healing and enlightenment to the planet through your own advancement and through your interactions with others.  There are collective “lessons” that many are working on right now (myself included!)

While listening to a teleclass offered by metaphysical leader, Jo Dunning, recently, she mentioned that as we open ourselves to accept more light into our lives, we then put ourselves in a position to light the pathway for all those we encounter going forward. This applies to everyone we meet up with on a daily basis, even if your interaction with them is brief – the grocery store checker, the waiter in the restaurant, the appliance repair person, the people you sit next to at the sporting event --- and on and on. Just by being “enlightened” you, you are helping the rest of us lead a better life. How cool is that?

 

This month may you be a significant light for others and a receiver of the enlightenment they offer you in return! And may Thanksgiving find you surrounded by family and friends in beauty, peace, harmony and prosperity.

October 2011 is a Number Five month in a Number Four Universal Year.  We also have the Number Ten (the number symbol for October) in play.  Ten represents in Tarot the Wheel of Fortune and often indicates a change for the better.  In summary – and I hope this is encouraging news for all of you – we can interpret the Number Five energies of October as initiating a change in the structure of our lives.  Some of you whom I know personally will utter a sigh of relief and state:  “Thank Goodness!”  If you are seeking positive change, October --- and the coming year – offer the opportunity to transition to brighter horizons.

A reminder that I offer every time we encounter October in our year is that October is considered “preview month”, so pay attention to events that occur for you and also universally, as they will hold indicators of how the energies of 2012 will play out. 

Five brings change and reform from the status quo, sometimes in the guise of chaos and drama.   If you are able to accept events that occur without judging them negatively, you are in a stronger position to be in the flow of energies that carry you through a portal to new careers, relationships, and lifestyles that connect you more deeply to rewards and fulfillment that are aligned with your authentic self.



Some helpful guidelines to keep in mind for this month:

-----Stay alert – to events in your life and your world.

-----Be flexible as circumstances dictate and evolve.

-----Try new ways of doing things.

-----Take risks.
  

-----Reach out and network with people who offer diversity in their beliefs and culture.

-----Listen to the stirrings of your heart.  Envision the changes you are called to make.

More about the energies of 2012 will be forthcoming as we approach the new year.  We may, however, see important changes and shifts globally as we transit the last ten days of October.  Carl Calleman, a highly regarded expert on the Mayan calendar, has stated that October 28, 2011 marks the end of the Mayan calendar and thus the end of a 26,000 year cycle.

The term “it’s always darkest before the dawn” comes to mind, so if any of you are struggling, remember this month offers the light of a new day, and a new era begins for us all.  Take out your paints or your crayons and begin designing the canvas of your life as you would like it to be.  The wind is at your back – and the force is with you!

N-Sights for September 2011

WAKE-UP CALL!

Like it or not, this September we will, individually and collectively have our alarm clocks sound, signaling that it’s time to go to work and repair whatever needs fixing in our lives.  Will we get it all done this month?  Absolutely not – but, like having a faucet that springs a leak, (and maybe signals a whole kitchen renovation) we won’t be able to avoid confronting the truth of our circumstances and planning our repair strategy.

September 2011 is a Universal Four Month in a Universal Four Year. There is a “Universal” aspect to the number we use to symbolize September – the Number Nine which resonates to humanity as well as tests, endings and conclusions.

By my own calculations, the compound number for this month is the master number “40”.  (Note:  Some numerologists will not agree with this.)  In doing research for the number “40”, I encountered this cryptic message from Faith Javane in her book, Master Numbers:

     UNIVERSAL       HARMONY        MASTER       AWAKENING     

 

All the above words individually add up to "40" using Pythagorean numerology. What does this mean?  I don’t pretend to be a psychic or a seer, just one who interprets symbolism.   One way I interpret this is that, as Four represents “structure”, “health” and “security”, we can expect to be clearly presented with anything that is faulty in our individual and collective structures.  This especially applies to soundness in:

Home     Health     Business     Finances     Environment/Ecology

Those of you who know me know that I am opposed to deliberately generating any kind of scary predictions that can result in fear.  That is definitely not my objective in writing this forecast. 

During the 2011 Forecast Teleclass that I did with astrologer Katherine Metcalf in January of this year, Katherine mentioned that there was a Uranus transit that, among other things, could result in angry protests, government upheavals and and changes in world economies.  She remarked that the likelihood of these things happening was intensified in September 2011.

Feng Shui consultant, Marina Lighthouse, remarked in her latest newsletter:  “An overall pattern in the world at this time will be ‘using a sledge-hammer to crack a nut,’ meaning using disproportionate force or expense to overcome a minor problem. We could all be witness to an increase in political arguments both between parties, and even between governments.”

My personal opinion is  that we are likely to encounter, in some way, some “wake-up calls” and major corrections regarding money and economic conditions this month.  Remember, the Number Four supports justice, and corrections give us the opportunity to make things better in the long run.

Also, this same energy applies to the Earth – and as I write this, we are already seeing some strong evidence of “rebalancing” with the earthquakes and Hurricane Irene  making their strong statement.

Regardless of what does happen, it is to your advantage to focus on remaining centered and peaceful in your heart and banishing any fear-based thoughts even if the world at large seems chaotic.  Even though there is at present no way to prove this, I personally believe that there were enough people praying and thinking positive thoughts to make Hurricane Irene’s force much less destructive by the time it reached New York City. 

From a proactive standpoint, September is a very good time to plan and make repairs with regard to finances, health and structure (Let’s hope the Congressional Debt Reduction Committee is able to utilize this time to benefit all of us in the long run!)

For you, personally, here are guidelines to use September’s energies in a constructive way:

---The Number Four is a “get down to work” number which indicates we are all likely to be devoting more time to work related activities.

---It's important to be even more cautious and prudent with money this month.  On the other hand, it can be a terrific time to find an amazing bargain!   

---It’s an excellent month for cleaning out “old stuff” literally and figuratively.  In  addition, Four supports home repair, remodeling and construction projects (but make sure you make a budget and stick to it!)

---Focusing on finding solutions to health or dental issues can be very productive.

All in all, this can be an excellent month to uncover solutions to obstacles to your health and well being in addition to making changes to live more resourcefully and with greater respect for the earth and environment.

In conclusion, I offer the suggestion to call on Archangel Raphael for help in healing anything in your life that is causing you discomfort whether it is physical or emotional pain or illness, addictions, financial distress, exposure to the suffering of others – or concern about the abuse the earth and environment have received from human tampering.
 
In addition to asking for help healing a specific situation, you can also request that Archangel Raphael help you to:

 ****listen to your intuitive feelings and inner wisdom

TIME OUT! LET THE LOVE AND SUNSHINE IN!

This month our dominant Personal Month number is Three, the number of optimism, creative expression, laughter and play. At least these are the characteristics that can be considered among the most positive and uplifting for the number Three.

This is the only month of 2011 when Three makes its appearance – and it shows up right smack dab in the midst of two “heavyweight” numbers -- Four, our Universal Year number – and Eight, our calendar month number for August. In a traditional numerology context, Four and Eight are essentially all about work and money, along with keep your nose to the grindstone and get the job done and no monkey business directives.

Three arriving in the midst of these very serious, labor intensive numbers is like bringing a group of lively three-year old children to the office the day the company bigwigs have set aside to evaluate and revamp their corporate financial structure. What a set of opposing energies!

What’s to be done? If you ignore the children, everyone’s going to get cranky. Maybe it’s time to just take time out, lighten up, play and laugh.

…That’s what I’m recommending for you at any rate. The energies of September promise to be intense. Take advantage of this month’s vibrations to cut yourself some slack and indulge in your favorite things – rest, play, laugh, dance. Indulge your creative instincts – write poetry, paint, do crafts, sing, play an instrument. Go to plays, art exhibits, concerts, have a barbecue, play games, roll in the grass and look at the clouds. Let your inner child out for a good romp!

Even if your own life is in the midst of some heavy duty turmoil, taking time off to play, even if only briefly, can have enormous therapeutic benefits, not only for yourself, but for those with whom you live and work. And, if you subscribe, as I do, that your own mood contributes to mass conciousness, your taking the time to nurture your inner child and bring joy to your soul will have an impact on the prevailing universal energies. I’m thinking out loud as I write, but what would it be like if we had regular “joy breaks” mandated for everyone? I think that would definitely help shift the energy on the planet to an extent where our quality of life would be amazingly improved.

Astrologer Kelly Beard made some synchronistic observations in her Cosmic Switchboard audios regarding the Mercury retrograde time period which is fully active from August 3rd to August 26th. She noted that Mercury rules words, music and rhythm with a focus on love, creativity and change from the inside out during this Leo time period. She also pointed out that the “child” energy will be prevalent and can show up two ways:  either as being “childish” (which is the ego pouting when it can’t have its way) or “child-like” which is being centered and connected to your heart and what brings you authentic joy.

She advised that it was a very good time for us to focus on healing any dichotomy between our hearts and our minds. This is essentially saying that the “3” energy which is an energy of love can heal the serious, more mental and potentially egocentric aspects of the “4” and the “8” which, as I mentioned previously, are also part of the month’s numeric influences this month.

N-Sights for July 2011

CHANGES, CHOICES AND KEEPING THE PEACE

July’s mix of energies is a study in contrasts. If you focus on conducting your life with peace and love in your heart, you will have an easier time transiting the days and experiences of this month.

Our Universal Year Number of Four supports solidarity and the status quo.  July is a Universal Month Number of Two which focuses on choices, changes, and partnership issues.  And, July, the calendar month, is written as “7” which offers us the instruction to rest and regroup, especially in solitude.

So….what’s it to be?  Relax and be in the status quo – or focus on relationships, changes and choices?

It looks like we can take our pick here – and of course, the circumstances in your own life will certainly offer you loud and clear hints about how the month should be spent.

After I thought I had completed this month’s N-Sights, I had my own personal “insight” about the effect of July’s vibration….

Looking at universal energies through numerology gives us one form of clues and insights which offer us, as the energies cycle, opportunities for life lessons both large and small.  Although your own personal life cycles and circumstances are primary influences, the Universal energies are ones which are likely to affect us all.  If we become aware in advance of these energies and their corresponding lessons, we have the opportunity for advance preparation which can make our life easier now and ongoing as we master the lessons.  This is the equivalent of knowing it’s going to rain and taking an umbrella with us.

So, before I continue with my original energy forecast, here is my own personal lesson relevant to July’s energies which I will share with you:

With the best of intentions I sent an empathetic e-mail to a friend, comparing her present challenging situation to one shared by a mutual friend.  Immediately, she sent me a strong rebuke informing me that her circumstances weren’t in any way comparable and that my words and lack of understanding had hurt her deeply.

Here’s what we have here (and this is how my mind works, as I receive information in terms of numbers  --  call it my “talent”, “quirk” or whatever!)

The three major numbers at play in July are 4, 2 and 7….  (I have a lot of Four and Seven energy in my makeup…The other person has a lot of Two energy.)

       Four can be tactless.

      Seven can misunderstand and be misunderstood.

      Two is extremely sensitive and can be hurt easily.
      Two often feels like a victim.
      Two, the number, requires peace, harmony,
                    diplomacy and empathy.

Yes, I apologized and mended the fences.  But, more important, how can you benefit from this incident? 

This month, especially, we are likely to receive the lessons of learning to be sensitive to the feelings of others and to make an effort to keep the peace.  We need to carefully monitor our choice of words and be willing to apologize and make amends if we inadvertently step on someone else’s toes.  We may also find ourselves likely to take offense at someone else’s words and/or actions more than we would do at other times. 

Be alert.  If you find yourself in a state of heightened emotions, ask yourself if you are perhaps over-reacting or have misinterpreted the situation causing your flare-up.  Also, a willingness to apologize and forgive may help you transit the month with more peace and harmony.

This stated, back to my original forecast which contains more hints for mastering the energies of July 2011:

The dominant energy for July 2011 being Two involves us in choices – and sometimes these are difficult to make, often because we can see benefits to all the options before us.

These are five areas that might be considered appropriate to utilize the prevailing number energies of Two, Four and Seven this month, involving relationship and/or family harmony as well as potential contracts and agreements....

 Career  --  form new partnerships and/or change jobs

 Family  --  find ways to create family harmony where

                           differences exist

 Home  --  make changes or buy or sell property

 Health  -  contract resources for your desired outcomes
                           or change your current providers

 Finances – find new resources for financial planning

 Legal -  estate planning is well-timed

Another option (using the “7” energy) is simply to research the changes you would like to make.

This year, 2011, is influenced by the Number Four.  Four wants stability, and it’s more difficult to create major change under this energy, especially if the change you seek is radically different from your current circumstances.    Often economic factors and financial resources are more limited during a Four year, which brings with it the lessons of having all your needs met even in the midst of restricting circumstances.This is especially true if you are transiting a Four Personal Year, have a Four birthday or have Four as one of the major core numbers in your numerology natal chart.

Essentially, then, if you are seeking to reinforce stability and security for yourself and/or your family, you will likely have an easier time of it, and July can help you make progress.  If you are seeking a radical change of direction, you may find the going much easier when 2012 rolls around.  This year, however, is good for planning, saving money and doing whatever other preparation that is required to make your desired lifestyle transition easier when the number energies shift direction.

People who are transiting a Four personal year often are dissatisfied with their life situations and seek change, only to find that, during the Four year, they feel “locked in” and restricted.  The Five year opens the way for them to move forward .

The best advice I can give for July is….

"Dream your dreams….”

“Use your intuition….” (Two is a very intuitive number.)

“Welcome partnerships and agreements that offer you enhanced security in your life.”
"Be patient!  Time-consuming details are part of our lessons this month.
"Nurture peace and love in your heart."

VIP Postscript!!!  The best time for change is between the new moon of July 1st and the full moon of July 15th.  After this time, not only is the moon waning, but --- I know how welcome this news is, but, yes, another Mercury retrograde period is on the way.  It officially begins August 3rd, but the retrograde influence begins accelerating at least two weeks prior to that date.  You are well-advised to make all important choices and changes by mid-July or postpone them until September or later.
